ROAD STRUCTURE

1.     Sub grade

It is prepared and leveled surface of the natural earth on which road is constructed. its surface is usually retained 2 feet above the ground level so that rainwater could not crossover the road the sub grade will be beneath of earth surface if road is being constructed on un leveled land rigidity of the road immensely depends over this sub grade.

2.     Sub base

It is an important of the road . Additional layer of gravel is suffused if sub grade is weak that is called sub Base

3.     Base

It is also an important part of the road .it endures the load of traffic being transported over the road and saety conveys it to sub-base or sub grade. Rigidity of the road mainly depends over this part tof the road.

4.     Surfacing

It is upper part of the road which smoothens the surface of the road .it also makes surface unabsorbant , types of road is intended by sort of meatrial being employed in surfacing
