Parts Of A Door
Doors are ways intended for entering into the rooms windows are used fro making way for fresh air and sunlight in to rooms and other parts of house while ventilators are intended for ventilation of air. Doors windows and centiliters must be made in proper places in order to make them useful and get adequate advantages of them. They are made in various designs and different materials. Selection of design and material is conducted according to type of building architectural cost and occasion.
PARTS OF A DOOR
Doors have following parts.Frame Frame is a border around a door or window. It is used to encapsulate the shutters of doors or windows that is made of wood or aluminum. It has rectangular shape but it may have other shapes as well.
Head The horizontal section of the jamb that tops the door frame.
Sill It is a narrow at the bottom of door or window in a house or building.
Post It is one of the two upright pieces of wood at the side of a door.
Shutter Shutter is the mechanism employed to shut the internal section of gram of door or window
Stiles The two outer vertical wood pieces of a door panel. Hinged stile is the stile that is fixed to frame with handles while the other stile is called as meeting stile.
Top rails Top rail is the outer horizontal section of shutter .
Lock rail It is horizontal section in the shutter that is used for fixing lock.
Bottom rail Bottom rail is the lower horizontal section in the shutter .
Frieze rail It is horizontal section employed in construction of door despite of top , bottom and lock rail.
Sash bar It is apiece of glass in wooden frame that from part of sash door or window.
Panel It is a piece of wood or other material that forms part of something such as door or wall.
Rebate Rebate is groove that is engraved over all four side of frame in order to fix shutter in to it.
Horns Sill and head parts of doors are enlarged in order to firmly fix doors into the walls .sill and head of door are also known as horns of door.
Louver A louver is a door blind or shutter with horizontal slats that are angled to admit light and air , but to keep out rain , direct sunshine and noise . the angles of the slates may be adjustable usually in blinds and windows or fixed,
TransomTransom is a bar of wood or stone across the top of door that separates the door from the window above it.
Mullion Mullion is a piece of metal wood or stone used or separating the piece of glass in door and window.
