Offset Measurement By Total Station

 Today i am writing about the Offset Measurement as you know that last time i published a post about the Missing Line Measurement, some of my website viewers comment about to make a guide about Offset Measurements on total station. So i make a simple and easy post about in which i explain you all about Offset Measurements with diagram .

Offset Measurement on Total Station 

The distances of different points situated outside a line can also be measured by the total station .For this the prism is placed on the base line and (0 , 0 , 0 ) are recorded as its coordinates.Then the prism is placed at some other point to find its coordinates .These coordinates can also found out indirectly even if here is some obstacle in between the point .

This internal menus of total station you can measure the offset from these option

Operating procedure	Operation	Display
1.       Press [ f4 ] (p1) key from distance measuring mode to get the function on page 2 . 2.       Press [F1] (OFFSET) key . 3.       Collimate prism P , and press [F1] (MEAS) key	[F4] [F1] Collimate P [F1]	HR  : 1200 40’ 60’’ HD *  120.21m VD :    4.265 m MEAS MODE S/A P1
		OFFSET S.0 m/f/i P2
		OFFSET-MEASUREMENT HR  : 1200 40’ 60’’ HD *        m MEAS……………………SET
		OFFSET-MEASUREMENT HR  : 1200 40’ 60’’ HD *     ((m MEAS………………….SET

Another procedure of Offset Measurement 

Topography time if there could be a direct point of which can be determined by using the offset option .On this Total Station we can be found OFFSET in to 3 ways.

• Offset by distance
• Offset by angle
• Offset by 2D

We will enter the offset distance and direction and distance of the target points from Offset option and we will press Meas option then the machine (Total station) will tell us the point coordiante.
